Why Our Broome toDarwin Road Trip Should Be on Your Travel Bucket List

Australia is renowned for its expansive territory and countless hidden gems, making it challenging for travelers to explore on their own. When opting for a tour bus, most of the sightseeing is done from a window. We’ve combined the best of both worlds by creating Australia’s only hostel-on-wheels, providing travelers with an unprecedented opportunity to experience the wonders of Western Australia and Northern Territory like never before.

Here are the reasons why you should add Road 2 Adventure Broome to Darwin to your bucket list.

1- Making Connections and Lasting Friendships

Travelling in a hostel-on-wheels is one of the most unique ways to experience Australia. Our group size is small, with just 8 people. While we welcome small groups, many travelers join us individually, providing a great opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. We are like-minded individuals who are active, fit and always hungry for adventure. On our journeys, we form friendships that last a lifetime.

2- Discover Unique Spots

When hiring a tour on a bus, you know there are lots of remote places that you can’t reach. Thats why we tow a Toyota Troopcarrier (Large 4WD) behind us so we can get off the beaten track where most tourists don’t go. Our priority is to ensure your safety and enjoyment throughout the entire journey, while exploring unique and less-visited destinations.

3- Don’t Resign Comfort

Our buses are like a “glamping” experience, complete with USB charging ports in every bunk, a flushing toilet, hot shower, full kitchen, fridge/freezer, slide-out BBQ, rooftop deck and much more! Say goodbye to the stress of packing and setting up camp every day!

4- The Best for Last: The Kimberley Region

Now, let’s talk about the amazing spots we are visiting in The Kimberley region. Everything here is rare and remote, from ancient rock formations to luxury outback retreats. The area also features tropical forest-topped islands, ochre cliffs, flat waterfalls, and rock art galleries that may be the oldest in the world.

You can start or finish our trip by parking on Cable Beach in Broome and taking a refreshing swim.North of Broome is the Dampier Peninsula where we can visit remote aboriginal communities or head to Western Beaches.

Leaving the bus behind for two days and one night, we’ll explore Gibb River Road including Tunnel Creek & Winjana Gorge! After off-roading all day, we’ll camp overlooking the outback before heading to Bell or Manning Gorge for a well-deserved swim.

The Bungle Bungles will be another highlight as we spend a full day hiking in this National Park checking various gorges including Echidna Chasm & Cathedral GorgeJust on WA/NT border lies Lake Argyle with options like boat tours or kayaking.

Litchfield National Park offers Magnetic Termite Nests,Wangi Falls, and swimming holes to marvel at. To start or finish your trip to the top end there’s the option to join a short cruise on the Adelaide River, where you can watch the salt water crocs jumping out of the water for scraps of buffalo meat on the boat. It’s the only safe way to get so close to these unique and wild predators!

If you want to see and do more, then Road2Adventure’s 14-day Broome-Darwin/Darwin-Broome tour is perfect for you. It’s the most adventurous tour through The Kimberley, designed for the fit, active, and young at heart! You can hike, swim, jump, explore, enjoy 4WD river crossings, communal accommodation, and small group sizes. Our tours are longer, giving you the time to relax and truly immerse yourself in the Kimberley.
